Georgie got his iPad today!

Georgie receives an iPad – a tool for autistic children

The world for an autistic child is full of imagery, rather than words. On an iPad, an autistic child can create a sentence or even story using a series of images. By doing so, the child can communicate with parents, caretakers, and instructors without frustration. Since the iPad is mobile, children with autism can take this communication tool wherever they go.

Three-year-old Georgie Hassel was provided this additional tool to use in his struggles with Autism. Purchased with donations by the community and the Crawfordsville Kiwanis Club, Georgie and his mother, Ashley, attended the meeting on Thursday April 20th, 2023, to receive his new iPad.

The Crawfordsville Kiwanis Club continues to provide tools to children throughout the community through their Adaptive Equipment Program.  Donations for this program are always appreciated and can be made by sending them to Crawfordsville Kiwanis, Adaptive Equipment Program, PO Box 611, Crawfordsville IN 47933.

Come on out and visit our club any Thursday at 11:30 in the Donnelly room of the Crawfordsville District Public Library on the lower level.
