Judge Darrin Chadd visits Kiwanis

Judge Darrin Chadd has been a Montgomery County Judge for a little over 6 months. As a Circuit Court Judge his purview includes Juvenile Court and he spent some time discussing that with our membership at our meeting on July 6th.

One of his areas include hearing delinquency cases for juveniles mostly involving theft, battery or drug offenses. At this time there are about 40 pending cases in this area. Most of the cases Judge Chadd has involve CHINS (Child in Need of Services) cases. There are about 80 cases pending right now in his court that must be decided. Although the number may be considered high that is much better than in 2017 when almost 200 cases were active!
